How US foreign policy encouraged Iran's bold attack on Israel

On Tuesday, Iran attempted an attack on Israel. The nation fired 180 missiles at Israel, making the war much worse. This conflict has been continuing for more than a year. Many nations are under the effects of this war. This includes Israel, the United States, and global shipping. Iran is one the top of the list for supporting terrorism. Some say that ‌US foreign policy under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris was the major reason for this attack. The actions of the US, such as lifting sanctions on Iran and putting pressure on Israel, may have made Iran bolder.

Back in 2020, when Joe Biden made a promise with Iran. He made a deal with the nation to return to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and change Trump’s policy. But Biden did not fulfill his promise and stuck to his plan; even Iran became more dangerous with time.

Critics believe this decision has made the situation worse. This shows how foreign policy decisions can sometimes lead to unexpected and serious problems.

Iran has been making progress with its nuclear program. The nation is enriching Uranium to dangerous levels, but there has been little international reaction. However, the Biden administration also encouraged various European countries not to oppose ‌Iran’s nuclear actions. Even though Iran is increasing its hostility, the US has offered relief from sanctions.

The United States has also removed Houthis from its terrorist list. They are the supporter of Iran in Yemen. The US also remained silent when Iran was elected a terrorist leader, Ebrahim Raisi. The nation also did not pay attention to Iran’s attacks on American troops. Although the Biden administration knows that Iran is a great supporter of Russia, both diplomatically and militarily.

Iran and Gaza war

Last year, eager to make a nuclear deal, the US let billions of dollars go to Iran and allowed its oil to be sold to China. This money‌ helped Hamas, leading to more violence like what happened on October 7.

Even after 1,200 Jews were killed in the open and 250 more hostages were taken prisoner, including Americans, Tehran started a war on seven fronts. The war involved Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Judea, and Samaria, and Iran itself. Despite all of this, US policy remained unchanged. New waivers were granted to Iran to provide it with cash. The oil sanctions were not implemented. The US and its closest friends could have kept the worldwide missile embargo on Iran in place by writing a letter to the UN Security Council. However, they were allowed to let it expire.

Iran was spared the reprisal against the militias in Iraq that Iran supported after three American troops were killed in Jordan. Furthermore, the White House refused to remove the Houthis from the list of foreign terrorist organizations or to send Central Command in to destroy the group’s infrastructure, leadership, and capabilities, even as the Iran-backed group in Yemen effectively shut down international shipping in the Red Sea and launched a daily drone and missile war against the US Navy.

The White House’s policy got worse as the presidential election season came closer. Instead of focusing on the attacker and its terrorists, more pressure was put on Israel, America’s friend, which is now fighting for its existence. Withholding weaponry from Israel’s military and placing sanctions on Israelis were two straightforward ways to send Tehran the message, “You have the green light to escalate.”

Israel has now emerged from months of US hand-wringing, threats, undermining press leaks, and other pressure methods with a full-throated effort to turn the tables on Iran and demolish its ability to wage war across the Middle East. Even while its strongest ally is trying to make things as difficult as possible, Israel is still winning.

American defense and Israel’s achievements

It is said that Biden and Harris want to take the blame for Israel’s achievements. They also want praise for helping Israel defend itself against big missile attacks. This was only possible because they destroyed American defenses and were willing to calm the attacker.

There is no place for praise for an arsonist posing as a firefighter. However, they may now make up for their misguided foreign policy based on ideology by completely backing Israel’s destruction of Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities and aiding the Iranian people in regaining their nation.

As the US attempted to manage a quickly intensifying regional war and moderate Israel’s reaction to Iran’s missile launch, Joe Biden declared he would not back an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear targets.

Biden’s remarks followed the senior Israeli diplomat’s warning that his nation would launch a bigger barrage of ballistic missiles in retaliation than Tehran “could ever have imagined” in response to an Iranian salvo of over 200 missiles.
