On 1st October, Iran launched a massive attack with many missiles at Israel’s territory. After this incident, Israel’s military said approximately 180 missiles were launched. While Iran said Israel concealed the fact that it was nearly 400. According to Iranian officials, this attack was the response to the recent murder of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders in strikes on Beirut and Tehran. Both of these nations blame Israel for the killings. This recent incident shows the rising tension between different regions. Nearby nations are worried ‌the rising conflict may lead to a larger war as Iran tries to show it will respond to threats.

A spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, mentioned that missiles hit central and southern Israel. However, there were few injuries due to these targeted missiles. This attack highlights that both nations are ready for the conflict. Both regions are also making efforts to maintain their power. Iran shows its military strength; at the same time, Israel works to protect its land and safety.

According to the Pentagon official, the US Navy destroyers made various efforts to stop Iranian attacks. It includes Arleigh Burke, Cole, and Bulkeley. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that this attack was the revenge for the deaths of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, ‌has promised to target more attacks on Israel. Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, said that Iran’s military is strong enough. This attack was a short glimpse of its power, and Iran is ready to protect its interests.

The situation highlights that the Iranian president is in favor of the Middle East and does not want to worsen the circumstances. ‌He seems to not agree with the IRGC about military actions.

The IRGC does not have enough power in Iran’s politics to act without the Supreme Leader’s approval. This highlights a struggle for control within Iran’s leadership.

The IRGC, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, influenced Ayatollah Khamenei that Israel needs to learn a lesson. For this purpose, it is crucial to show Iran’s military strength. However, Israel claimed that the missile attack did not work well and caused very little injury. However, this attack weakened Israel’s position. Now Israel has reason and freedom to act. It already has weekend Hezbollah and Hamas by killing their leaders. Both are ‌good allies of Iran.

This ongoing conflict shows that Iran’s plans are not working, putting its influence in the region at risk. Overall, Iran’s efforts to appear strong are backfiring, harming its relationships with allies and its credibility.

There is also a complicated relationship between Russia and Iran. Iran informed different nations across the world about its plans to attempt an attack on Israel. However, it did not notify Russia at first. This shows that both nations have a lack of trust.

Additionally, Iran has restricted the use of some weapons it had previously supplied to Russia for the war in Ukraine, especially ballistic missiles. These actions raise questions about Iran’s ability to carry out more attacks soon. If Iran is limiting its support to Russia, it casts doubt on the threats made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) about continuing retaliation. These developments show that Iran’s military plans may be more uncertain than we thought. They also show a change in how it treats both Russia and its enemies in the region.

According to the latest reports, Russia assisted in the elimination of Hezbollah’s senior leader, Hassan Nasrallah, from the group. This support‌ came from intelligence shared with approval from Russian leaders. However, still, there is no confirmation of these reports. It is considered that the information was passed through Russia’s Foreign Ministry, with involvement from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

It means Russia has a strong influence on Middle Eastern politics. It may have aimed to alter power in the region. No doubt that Nasrallah’s murder could weaken the strength of Hezbollah; this killing impacts its operations and ability to respond to threats.

This raises concerns about international interference in local fights. It means Russia has the power to affect groups that are close to Iran, such as Hezbollah. However, ‌long-term results for ‌regional stability remain unclear.
